Reza Padidar, in an interview with NIPNA on the occasion of
the Petrochemical Day, said materialization of the second and third leaps of
the petrochemical industry depend on a deeper look at the private sector.
The NPC has defined several major petrochemical projects
which are expected to bring about Iran’s second and third leaps in the industry
by 2026.
According to Mr. Padidar, NPC is the best center for the
infrastructural development of other industries. “The better this
infrastructure works, the more other industries will grow.”
"The petrochemical industry did its best, especially
during the sanctions period," Padidar said. “On the other hand, let's not
forget that we are a little behind the competitors in this industry in the modern
world.”
He said the private sector needed to be trusted for
development of projects more than before in order to ensure realization of the second
and third leaps of the sector.
“If the industry is meant to grow faster, the dependence of the
sector on the government needs to be minimized,” Mr. Padidar further stressed.
