According to Petrochemical Special Economic Zone
Organization, Morteza Shahmirzaei said on Tuesday night at the 93rd meeting of
the Strategic Council of Petrochemical Companies based in the Petrochemical
Special Economic Zone: “The annual production capacity of this industry was 3
million tons before the revolution and has reached 90 million tons today.”
He pointed out that with the localization of the
petrochemical industry, in addition to increasing the production of complexes,
the possibility of implementing value chain projects will accelerate, adding:
"Localization of this industry will lead to economic growth and
sustainable job opportunities in the country."
The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company continued:
"Relying on internal knowledge, it is possible to design the required
parts, as well as their installation and commissioning by Iranian specialists,
and this vision must be realized in the next three or four years."
In another part of the meeting, Shahmirzai, referring to the
need to reform the land management plan of Khuzestan province, said: "This
plan needs to be reviewed by experts to enable the sustainable development of
the petrochemical industry."
