Technology Company in developing local technical knowledge and various needed
catalysts. He emphasized the necessity of localizing technical knowledge,
goods, and equipment used in the industry by leveraging domestic capabilities.
"The industry has achieved valuable accomplishments in this regard,"
he added.
Highlighting the role of artificial intelligence in petrochemical
technologies, Shahmirzaei noted that the Petrochemical Research and Technology
Company could lead in this domain, meeting industry needs with cutting-edge
global technologies.
The CEO underscored the expansion of collaborations with universities,
research centers, and knowledge-based companies, which has led to the
flourishing and development of Iran's petrochemical sector. He indicated that
the signing of five research contracts demonstrated significant potential for
further academic collaboration.
Reflecting on the nation's strategic direction, Shahmirzaei remarked,
"In December 2021, the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company
committed to localizing all catalysts used in the industry. Today, we are
witnessing the near-completion of this goal."
He also discussed the development of eight strategic catalysts by a
petrochemical holding company, highlighting the need for these entities to
intensify their efforts in localizing industry requirements. Shahmirzaei
pointed out that resolving the status of the comprehensive license and
technical knowledge document for the petrochemical industry is crucial, with
250 licenses in use within the sector.
"The petrochemical industry succeeded last year in revitalizing
downstream sectors by offering 800 trillion rials of products,"
Shahmirzaei noted. He highlighted the support from the Ministry of Industry,
Mine, and Trade and the banking system in meeting the needs of these sectors.
Additionally, Shahmirzaei mentioned the ongoing initiative to
extinguish flares at petrochemical complexes, aiming to utilize associated
gases to not only protect the environment but also enhance feedstock for
petrochemical plants.
